My name is Jozek Soszynski. I’ve been climbing for 20 years, in Yosemite, Alps, Tatra Mountains, Dolomites, Cordilliera Blanca, Norwegian mountain ranges.
I value the most technical ascents on big walls: five routes on the north face of Grandes Jorasses in the Alps (including Walker Pillar in winter, Manitua), the legendary north face of Eiger via Hackmair, the Dion’s Dihedral route on El Esfinge in Peru (5325m, A3), summer and winter ascents of difficult and rarely repeated routes in Norway – including the Norwegian Route on Trollveggen, first winter ascent of Costa Brava (M7, A2, 900m), West Diedre (M6, A4) or El Pinche Borrego (5.10d, A3+,900m), on the south face of Mongejura.
I have a special fondness for El Capitan wall in Yosemite Valley, where I climbed, a.o. one of the most difficult combination on this wall – Beauty and the Beast A5+,which includes the most difficult pitches from Surgeon General route and Slacker’s Toil, Kaos (A4+), Lost in America (A4), Cosmos (A4).
Since I started climbing with a portaledge, I dreamed of one that was light, comfortable and easy to use. After a few years of trying different models, I decided I had to make one by myself.
